nana and papa come to statia!!!

oh my goodness......get ready for some pics from 10 of the funnest (and yes, i know that's not a word) bestest days we've spent on this beautiful little island. it may have helped to have nana and papa along for the fun.....but only a little!

beckam could not have been more excited! we had a countdown chain, and he woke up every morning and faithfully cut off another link, and then the big day came!!!

i think nana and papa matched his excitement too. it may have been more because they were done with their 24 hour adventure here, but either way, they were here in statia!!!! first things first......fresh lobster tails! mmmmmm......

i really did narrow down the pictures for this post believe it or not, and here are the highlights!!! we boated and snorkeled and scuba dived and body surfed and hiked......

and had a few naps along the way too :)

we also ate yummy food (like fresh coconut cut down and macheted open by the one and only daddio) and played in the sand.....a whole lot!

mom and dad loved their nightly sunsets from their porch at hotel lott's, and i loved watching them just take this whole place in. it really is this beautiful people, and i really do live here, and my parents really did come visit :)

the best part though - of course - was watching the boys with their nana and papa! they loved swimming and iPading and snuggling and just being with their grandparents again :)

they did get shunned to their room for a little toy story action during a football game or two while dust and dad yelled at the tv and made bets on who would win. they were ok with that though and so was i cuz tebow pulled through, and we won ourselves $10 and dust got to be called sir for the rest of the visit! haha

we played ROOK every single night, and i think my husband finally knows how to play - yay! we ate popcorn and watched movies and football of course. we went for lots of walks along the shore and listened to the waves crash in. dad found a freakin blue bead (which is the envy of me and everyone else who searches for them every time they go to the beach!) and had quite the shell collection to hide in his pant pockets and shoes. we honked at every passerby statia-style, and we enjoyed the statia wildlife on our daily cruises around the island, and we just really tried to live it up :)

i couldn't have loved having my parents here more. they really are the best, and i missed them the minute we left the airport and still have hope that they'll come back again before we're done here. it was so fun to see my dad body surfing and to see my mom relaxing in the sand, and i'm just so thankful that we live here and that they were able to come and experience a little piece of our lives with us!
