easter excitement

easter was especially fun around these parts this year, so get ready for a crap load of pictures! first on the agenda this year, raymond's easter egg hunt :) lots of old gross chocolate eggs and lots of fun!

then, another easter egg hunt (with way better candy!) at grandpa and grandma moj's!

 

 

the easter bunny treated the boys pretty darned good this year! a bike for beckam, a helmet for mads, and lots of chocolate treats for jetes :)

lastly came the hill family easter egg decorating and rolling! love this little tradition of ours even if it's a little strange :)

 

this year, we added a little wieny roast and skeet shooting for fun, and it was the perfect day for it :)

the boys love rolling their eggs to see which one makes it to the bottom of the hill without cracking, and even with the raging wind (every single year), we still take pride when our egg wins the race :)

love this crazy little sun tan goggle ear plug man and loved our easter festivities this year!

half marathon what?!?!

once upon a time, i had a baby and was in horrible shape after and decided that running would be a good way to shed the fat. i don't really love running, but i love sweating and knowing that i did something towards the cause of losing the flab, so running it was! soon after i started, lace mentioned a half marathon in canmore and thought we should do it together. my initial response was HECK no, but i eventually came around and convinced kris to join me, and we all signed up for the mother's day race!

we took the opportunity to have a little girls weekend too and loaded up on carbs together and got our 5 hour energy drinks and stressed about what to eat for breakfast and how many port-a-potty's they'd have on the trail :)

we pretended to stretch before we took off, but i think we (me and kris at least) were too nervous to care about that. we just wanted to survive it!

we had heard that it was a hard race - kinda hilly - but we were set and ready to go!

lace killed it like we knew she would :)

me and kris, on the other hand, finished, and that was all that mattered to us! it was stinkin HARD, and there was A LOT of hilliness, but we did the 1st 6 miles with no walking and finished strong!

love this picture of kris being so excited to see little maklyn after :) so fun to see someone cheering you on when you cross that finish line - thanks for coming mama! and the stretching before may have slipped our minds but not after! stretching never felt so good!

it was sooooo beautiful up in canmore that day, and the scenery didn't disappoint. it was hard, but i felt pretty good after considering i was 15 weeks pregnant :)

i've always wanted to run a race and never dreamed i could finish a half marathon. it was so fun to do it with these amazing girls, and we had such a great weekend, and i can't wait for our next race :)

bday and movie party

our cousin aj had a little bday party, and it was fantastic :) each kid got their own car, lace gassed them up, and we were on our way for some serious car racing!

mads didn't care that he was last! haha he was just so happy to be racing his car beside his big brother :)

we had a little movie date to celebrate too! who knew fort macleod had such a great little theatre! yummy popcorn with real butter, comfy seats, and a great movie with our boys capped off a pretty great day :)

leprechans and hockey

let the catch up begin! back to march (i think)......we went on a little date with the 2 older boys and did state and main and then went to the last season game of the lethbridge hurricanes :)



to say the boys love restaurants is an understatement. they LOVE eating out, especially when it's on a special date with mom and dad and with the food at state and main, we were all in heaven!

 

the hockey game didn't disappoint either. the hurricanes beat medicine hat 8-4, and even though we didn't quite make it to the end, the boys loved their sound makers and cheering when we scored.

beckam cheered for the tigers (cuz tigers are cooler than hurricanes), and he didn't seem to mind that his team lost :) love date nights with my boys and loved this one!

2 days after the hockey game came st. patrick's day - pretty sweet weekend! the boys were soooo excited to set up a leprechaun trap with dad. they were determined to catch our mischievous little friend, but they were disappointed to find that he took the loot and just left green footprints and green milk behind. better luck next year boys!

 

we've never done the trap thing before, but it was pretty fun. happy st. patty's day :)

jeter man

ok.....so i'm such a slacker, and i hate that this is so late, but our little man turned 6 months (a couple of months ago......don't judge) and he deserves a little update :)

first of all, could he get any cuter!?! i did a little picture session with him on his 6 month birthday, and for a usually super smiley boy, he was really zoned in on the camera and wasn't going to be distracted! still so cute though.

our little jeter man is awesome. he has the most contagious smile, and the cutest little giggle. he does the 1 bottle/night around 5pm still but has had a few miracle 11-12 hour stretches. he loves his fleece blankie was a pro at rolling back to front by 5 months but took a little longer for the easier front to back.

he LOVES his jumperoo (thanks tolmans!) and he loves getting lotioned up after his baths - which he also LOVES!

first go at food was just after 5 months, and peas were not his thing! haha he loves most anything without meat in it though and especially loves strawberries, blueberries, and bananas of course!

jetes loves his brothers so much and always gets his hands going with excitement when his dad comes home :) he especially loves beckam's baby talk and songs and just loves to watch his big brothers do their thing! he loves his song and "popcorn popping" and really most any song will soothe his sad tears. he loves clapping and being scared and playing peek-a-boo, and he finally started sleeping for longer than 30 mins at a time for his naps last month - yay!!!!!

this little man makes us smile every day, and although he may be a little needy and emotional at times, his smiles and snuggles and giggles and those chubby cheeks keep us loving him eleventy four :) love you little jeter man!!!
