buzzy bees

have you ever seen such a handsome little 3 year old on his 1st day of school!!!! i mean seriously!

we often walk by this school on our morning walks, and beckam knew that kids his age went there for school. he asked for so long if he could go to school there, and when friends moved away, and he was left with his little brother as his only playmate, we decided we'd check it out :)

i know it seems crazy to send a 3 year old boy to school on a strange island, but he was SO excited when teacher rita called to tell us there was a space for him that we had to try it out. we decided on 3 days/week, and he was put into the pilot class with teacher asha. he couldn't have been more excited on his 1st day, and were shocked and surprised when he gave me and dust a big hug and ran in to start his 1st day with no hesitation!

he goes from 8-11:30 or so and gets to take a juice box and snack and then eats lunch with the other kids. they get to ride bikes and play basketball and play at a little park outside, and there are lots of fun toys and kids to keep him busy in the classroom. the 1st day was definitely the smoothest, and the tears and "but i love you so much!" and "i'm going to miss and you and maddie too much!" lines have been repeated over and over again on school days, but he's slowly getting used to the routine and even woke up this morning (thursday) and asked if he could go to school today even though it's not a school day!!

he's always so happy when i pick him up which makes it easier on me, and it's so good for him to play with kids his own age. it's been hard on me and maddie being without our beckam and we can't wait for 11:30 to come so we can go get him, but it's so nice to spend some 1:1 time with my crazy little man too :)

anyway…….can't believe how hard it was to let my little beckam boo go off to school, but he's loving it and so are we!
