pumpkins pumpkins everywhere!

there are some really great things about living in portland, and one of them is the fields ripe for harvest! i know that there are berries and fruit and veggies grown back home, but there are such fun places to go and experience the harvest here, and we love it!!! our berry picking day was so much fun, and the next stop for us was the pumpkin patch :)

 

 

we had sooo much fun with all of the orange fun our at liepold farms in boring (yup - i said boring), oregon!

 

 

 

 

they had lots of fun for the kids, and i guess you can call me a kid cuz my favorite thing was the sandbox with corn kernels instead of sand! me and becks loved it :)

 

 

dust has a thing for pumpkin carving and has a lot more halloween spirit than me, so he had to be the one to pick our pumpkin. he was so proud of this 36lb beauty, and we can't wait to carve it up and cook us up some pumpkin seeds! beckam, on the other hand, chose this cute little pumpkin for his very own!

 

 

 

 

beckam just loved walking around from pumpkin to pumpkin and just being outside of course. there was lots to look at and lots to do, and we will definitely hit up the pumpkin patch again next year!

 

 

 

zoooooo!

i know i've done a few posts about the zoo, but these are by far our cutest zoo pics ever, so i had to do another one! not much to say other than we loved having our hubbies with us this time, and the chilly fall weather made for some cute bundled up boys :)

you know you are a stay at home mom when....

you talk to your food!


i was having some pickles on the side with my lunch yesterday, and i was trying to get the best one out of the jar. i kept stabbing my knife into the one i wanted, but it kept slipping off - you know how it goes if you're a pickle lover like me. anyway, i said to the pickle right out loud "come on, you silly pickle!" yup that's right....i talked my pickle into staying on the knife, and as i put it on my plate, i stepped back and realized what i had just done! i talked to my food! i then realized that i talk to beckam all the time and that i probably talk to myself and my food and my fruit flies more than i think!

 

 

clearly...i'm a stay at home mom with a busy student husband, but at least i find joy in the journey right! whether it's talking to my pickles or telling beckam how frustrated i am with our dirty bathroom like he truly understands and getting this cute face in return, it's a party around here with lots of laughs! haha i love being a stay at home mom!

swim swam

there really isn't too much to say about these pictures, but i had to put them up cuz they are just too cute! we went swimming at a sweet indoor pool with the poytress' over the boys' break, and we had a blast! it's fun to do full family stuff instead of just us girls and our little guys for a change, and i think our little ones were happy to see another face besides mom's all day every day too!

 

here's one we took together when becks was 3 months, and now here he is at 9 1/2 months! such a big boy now :)

 

 

he had so much fun splashing around, and i guess dad thought he needed a taste of that sweet chlorine to get the full swimming experience!

 

 

this was miles' 1st trip to the big pool, and he was loving the heated water! he got the dunk and did really good and is just getting cuter and cuter every day :)

 

 

i am not a huge lover of the pool - i'm not gonna lie. there is just something different about taking your kids swimming though, and i love that!

dust's break time from school is our favorite time around here! becks loves having his dad around, and i love having the adult company, and we always have lots of fun together with no school stress - yay!!! one of my favorite pictures from over the break is this one of becks helping mom with the laundry :) you gotta find joy in the seemingly meaningless little tasks of every day right?!?!

 

we check on becks every night before bed, and this is how i found him the other night! he's always been a back sleeper, so it was quite a shock to us and so cute! look at that little butt in the air!

 

these ones are from our 1st pumpkin patch trip. there will have to be another one seeing as the hayride out to the pumpkin patch was not running, and the pouring rain didn't help matters either! we had fun for a few minutes though and hit up red robin instead :) becks loved the cock-a-doole-do of the roosters, and we can't wait to try again soon!

boring drab somber blah

i've been thinking.....and one of my thoughts more recently is that i wish i were more funny. i'm so thankful to be married to a quick witted, sarcastically hilarious, always keeps me smiling kinda husband. i'm also thankful for family and friends who crack me up and who i love to be around because of their talent to be interesting and funny. me, on the other hand, mmmm....not so much.

i know it doesn't seem like something all that life changing or important, but i'm just saying that i've been recognizing my weakness in wit as of late, and i'm not so sure that it's one of those weaknesses that you can make into a strength! i think i'm a good friend and caring, and i think i have a good sense of humor (as in i can sense when other people are funny of course), but sometimes i just wish that i could be the one making people laugh or that people would think "oh we just have to invite lynz to the party cuz she is such a hoot!" haha that sounds so lame, but blogs are about being honest right?!?! right. i love reading blogs that leave me smiling/giggling in the end, and you'd think that i could at least steal other people's lines or jokes or something to liven things up on the tolman blog front but no cigar there either!

anyway....it's something i plan to work on. now, please oh please don't leave a comment and tell me i'm funny. you are, however, encouraged to give some good how to be funny advice :) thank you for being my funny friends fellow bloggers, and thanks for letting me get that off my chest!
