6 months already!

6 months ago, we took off for the hospital in lethbridge in hopes that my belly would be shrinking and that we would become a real little family with a healthy baby boy born to us in world record time with world record ease. the world record stuff didn't really work out for us, but little beckam did join me and dust, and we were the proudest happiest tiredest parents ever!

 

 

here's our little guy at 1 month old - such a little bundle of joy :) becks has always been a cuddly baby, and we wouldn't have it any other way! he loves nuzzling into our necks or dancing cheek to cheek or just chillin in our laps, and we love it too!

 

2 months....

 

 

at 3 months, becks really poured on the charm as he started to show off his cute smile and flash those wide blue eyes around and everyone and everything that moved!

 

our 4 month old little frog man....

 

lots of milestones around 5 months - 1st tooth and trying his 1st solid food to name a couple - the front runners are sweet potatoes and bananas for this guy!

 

here are a few of beckam today - his 6 month birthday. he LOVES his exersaucer, and his favorite place to hang out is on the kitchen counter while i keep busy doing the dishes or whatever. he now has 2 teeth and is in the process of getting more. he has a blankie that he loves to sleep with, and he is obsessed with playing with his toes and putting his fingers in his mouth :)

 

 

 

there is nothing more in the whole wide world that i would rather be doing than being this kid's mom. even on the sleepless fussy days, i love my boy and being his mom so much! i love our cuddles and singing to him before naps. i love playing on the floor with him and trying to help him roll over or sit up or try new food, and i can't get enough of his smiles :) i can't believe he's already 6 months old, and i can't wait for the next 6 months! happy 1/2 year beckam boo!

we love this girl! jillian harris is the new bachelorette, and monday nights are highly anticipated around these parts! from the 1st month or so that i moved to portland, we have had girls nights every monday. we watched jason chose the wrong girl on the bachelor and were disgusted as was the rest of the world when he went back on his decision. we did eventually come to accept molly and jason and then moved on to watching poor little melissa get to the semi finals of dancing with the stars. we are now in love with jillian, and the monday night group has grown, and it's soooo much fun :)

i don't know what it is about this show, but it gets me every time. i mean, i'm superly duperly happy in my marriage, and i don't need a show to remind me of when i got butterflies when he kissed me and of when he did totally creative little things to show me how much he loked me and of the initial attraction and whatnot, but it's kinda fun to live through someone who's going through it for the 1st time, especially when she's as cute as our canadian born jillian! i'm just happy to know that i'm not the only one who feels this way! we had 10 or so of us girls here last night, and we were all hating wes (seriously how can she not see right through that fake sings the same song over and over again in hopes to be discovered fool!) and loving kiptyn and couldn't wait for alcoholic disrespectful dave to get the heck outta there, and now we can't wait til next monday!

here are a few of our favorites, and we can't wait to find out if wes really does have a girlfriend back home and if she's going to finally pick michael for a one on one and if jake really is the perfect guy. me personally, i love kiptyn and reid :) good bachelorette times and if nothing else, it's a good excuse to have a girls night while the guys study! love you girls and can't wait to do it all again next monday!

we heart arrowroots

beckam was having one of his fussy days the other day (which seem to be happening more and more now that his 1st tooth cut through and that more are on the way), so i decided it was time to break out the arrowroot cookies. he took hold of that first cookie, and it went straight to his mouth as everything else does, and he was in heaven! he definitely hearts arrowroots and so do i! he made a big mess and chewed through 3-4 cookies, and i got a chance to make dinner, and life was great! he was pretty cute with that cookie stuck to his shirt too!

 

 

 

 

ps - i found myself snacking on a few arrowroots myself. they are so good, and i finally have a baby for an excuse to buy them!
pps - i don't know why i wrote that we heart arrowroots. we love them actually, but it seems like replacing love with heart is the thing to do these days, so i decided to try it. i don't think it will happen again.

m&m boys

dust's parents got back from a little vacation to vegas not too long ago, so when lacey got a little package in the mail, we had a sneaking suspicion that the contents may hold a little something for their 2 favorite grandsons and.....we were right!

 

aj and beckam both got official m&m shirts and some m&m's too, and they were in heaven! aj couldn't wait to open his chocolate treats, and becks was just happy that his little container made noise and had pretty colors to look at. we put them in their shirts right away, and here are our cute little blue m&m's :)

 

thank you grandpa and grandma peterson!!! the boys loved their treats and their shirts, and we loved our treats too!

 

big bottle boy

here is our nearly 6 month old little beckam baby feeding himself for the 1st time :) he is getting so big! he doesn't hold his bottle for a full feeding or anything, but it's nice that he can hold it for a second if i need my hands for something, and it's so funny to watch him go all cross eyed focusing so hard. so cute!

also, this has got to be the cutest little laugh you have ever heard. beckam was a little bit fussy the other night, so dust started swinging a towel around and hitting the floor with it, and becks thought it was just the funniest thing he'd ever seen and was actually giggling! it was so stinkin cute, so check out the video here if you want....

multnomah falls

i guess portland is home to the 2nd highest year round free falling waterfalls in the US, and it's just down the freeway from us, so we decided to make the most of our memorial day weekend and went to check out the most visited attraction in oregon! it was crazy busy but crazy beautiful too. i know you can't get the total picture of how high these falls are, but they start 620 feet up there!

 

you cross under the freeway to get to the base of these falls, and you can walk up a little ways to get a better look or hike right up to the top. we opted with the better look with it being close to beck's bed time, and we can't wait to take him to the top one of these days. he loved his new little carrier, and i loved that dust decided to take some time away from studying to enjoy the weekend with us, and it was really fun to tour around this great city a little bit!

 

here's becks taking in the falls. he loved hanging out with dad and facing foward so that he could see everything along our little trek. the hat's a little big as you can see, but i guess he's ok with watching the ground cuz he didn't make a peep!

 

splashin in the sun

it seems like there is a little lull in the blogging world these days, and i have had a few complaints from home now on the breaks between my posts, so here are a few to play some catch up :) becks is loving the water more and more these days and has actually figured out how to have some fun with it too. he splashes up a storm in the tub as you can see, and he loves the new little water park that we found downtown.

 

he mostly loves to watch the other kids play in the water, and he just watches the water come up on his feet while i hold those cute little toes in it. clearly, he's not a fan of sitting in the cold outside water in his little diaper, but i'll work on remembering his swimming suit next time and give it another try :)

 

becks is a regular water loving baby, and i know i already put this picture of me and my boy up, but isn't that smile just the most contagious thing you've ever seen?!? makes me smile every day, that's for sure :)
