cookie helper and onion tears

ever since i got beckam's bumbo chair for my shower from some of my mom's awesome friends, i have been so excited to have a little helper to make cookies with! i mean, he's not quite at the stage of helping me with the cookies exactly, but he sure looks cute sitting next to my bosch! becks quite enjoys that chair, and i quite enjoyed having someone to talk to while i made my cookies :) he loved hearing the beaters go round and round, and although i'm totally loving the stage that we're at now, i can't wait til he's asking to crack the eggs and put in the flour!

more kitchen fun was had when i was making stew yesterday. i decided to attempt my mom's delicious old timers beef stew, and with a few calls home to double check the directions, it worked out great! my house was filled with the smell of stew and biscuits, and dust and. i enjoyed a yummy meal on a rainy portland day. tears went into making that yumminess though.....i don't know why, but i am one of those people who cries just hearing the word onion! i had to cut up a whole one for this stew, and my eyes were stinging so bad that i couldn't see for a minute or two! i hope i'm not the only one who loses the fight against onions, and at least i find it entertaining! i mean really....who takes a picture of themself with tears streaming down their face and admits that an onion did the damage?!?!

that is definitely a CUTE little helper! and i agree...bumbo's are the BEST!!! kaedance likes to get into all her old toys, and she still fits the bumbo too! and yes...it is so fun to have a toddler cracking eggs with me and taste testing cookie dough.

oh so cute!! isn't it so fun to have a little side kick with you all the time!! ?? as for the onions you need to invest in a chopper...i have one from tupperware and it is seriously the BEST thing ever!! its like no more tears shampoo.....but for veggies!!

oh i am with you! i cry like a baby when the onions come out. i've tried all the tricks and they just don't work! i've resorted to the dried onions you can buy in a big thing from costco. not quite like real onions but close enough. and no stinky hands either.

Oh girl, I feel your pain! I hate onions so I try not to use them whenever possible. However, I have encountered the same situation. I've tried the match in the mouth, the bread, something about water and the knife. I don't know. Good luck with that!
