well, i'm now 31 weeks pregnant and can start counting down in single digits - yay! people ask how i'm feeling all of the time, and that has caused me to reflect on my pregnancy and how it's been so far (even though i know there is still a lot to come!) i've come to realize that there are both fun and not so fun things about being pregnant....for me at least......
i love that i'm going to be a mom, and i love reading and hearing about how our little guy is growing, but it's not so fun to wake up feeling fat every day of the week. it's so fun for me to feel our little guy kick around in that fat belly of mine but not so fun to wake up a few times every night to empty my shrinking bladder. we have recently come to understand that babies get the hiccups before they're born, and we loved feeling them, and we loved being reminded that there really is a real life baby growing in there who gets hiccups and who sleeps and moves around and all that fun stuff. not so fun - never feeling completely full and cravings for things that are full of sugar (which is just what this fat belly needs!) haha. i love the thought of meeting our little guy, but it's not so fun for me to hear all of the horror labor stories and to imagine what i have to go through to meet him. i love that i don't have to work and i get to enjoy this pregnancy, but it's kinda hard finding things to fill my day every day. it's fun to be able to have a nap during the day (even though i rarely do), but it's not so fun that i can't find a comfortable sleeping position anymore. any tips on that are welcome by the way!
anyway...i have just been thinking about how much i enjoy being pregnant and how excited i am to be a mom. i know that i mentioned a few things that aren't so fun about being pregnant, but the outcome of being pregnant is so worth it, and i just keep that in mind whenever i want to complain about one of the inconveniences along the way. i feel so blessed to be having a baby. it took us 7 months of trying, and we were so stinkin excited to see the little cross on that pee stick :) we can't wait to become parents, and i will welcome any inconveniences that come along with that privilege and responsibility! i know that some of you already parents out there will tell us to enjoy our time before the kids arrive, and trust me - we are trying our best to do just that, but we can't wait to bring on those babies either! i'm gonna be a mom!

you are so cute! reading that just brings back memories, and believe me, you forget really quickly what it was actually like to be pregnant, so enjoy that too!
as for sleeping... ugh. i know "they" say you aren't supposed to sleep on your back, but i just slid a pillow under my one hip, and that worked well for me. my dr. said it was fine, just as long as i wasn't flat on my back. plus who can breathe like that anyways? then i had a body pillow on my other side, partly under my belly.. and between my legs as well! don't forget the 2-3 pillows behind your head/upper back. good luck! i wish i would have taken a picture of my bed with all the pillows. and i hated having to crawl over my body pillow every time i had to go to the bathroom, but i couldn't have lived without it! sleeping was the worst for me, because i was always a stomach sleeper.
don't worry about labor/delivery. it will come, and go. and then you'll forget all about it, no matter how bad it is! the baby makes up for it 100 times over.
I loved being pregnant yah I remember some of those annoying things and somewhat inconveniences BUT I would take it all again in a second and just like I did then LOVE every second of it! I actually felt great when I was pregnant. I also used a body pillow and that helped tons but I really didn't have a hard time sleeping since I was working nearly full time and getting home with barely enough energy to make dinner and pass out on the couch by 7PM for the rest of the night!! I do remember having to pee ALOT during the night and feeling a ton of pressure all the time near the end--that part was not that fun! Anyway, just like Kelsey said the labor and delivery thing comes and goes, might feel like an eternity when you are going through it and it is definitely hard work but as soon as you hold your precious baby in your arms you pretty well forget everything it took to get to that point. It's more than worth it and pregnancy and labor are hardly a sacrifice for such a reward :) Good luck with the uncomfortable parts of pregnancy and hopefully you get more sleep before that baby comes!
Well i don't know much about any of that stuff but I do know that I am happy to have realized that I can make these comments instead of just reading silently and never saying anything! I am very grateful to have you as a part of our family and we are sooo excited for you and Dustin and this new addition to our family! We love you and hope that you can enjoy the good times and think of them in the hard or uncomfortable times. Know that our prayers are with you and we can't wait to see you again(hopefully very soon). Obviously we are going to have to get to Portland regularily since all our grandbabies will be there for the next 4 years!
